I was quite blessed all through high school with good skin. I was always saying how I was glad acne missed me in high school. But, I could have spoken too soon. Triggered my own karma and it’s now finally catching up with me after all these years.
It started last summer when I started constantly breaking out around my forehead and temples. I was doing everything I could to keep it at bay by investing into skin care products, and for a while it cleared up and I was back to good ol’ clear skin. I had the pleasure of enjoying my skin again for only a few months, up until last November. Oh yes, things definitely escalated from there. I started breaking out in cystic pimples on my cheeks and jaw line. That…was a nightmare, and of course I was freaking out about it unpacking and planning to stay for a long vacay.
After doing all the skin care remedy I can think of, I’ve finally realized how poor my diet was. Sometimes we’re so focus on fixing the problem on the outside, we forget to take care of ourself from the inside. This year, I wanted to kick off the year with the habit of drinking a healthy smoothie every morning.
This green smoothie that is packed with great vitamins for glowy skin is absolutely delicious.
Here is the recipe:
1/2 cup plain coconut water OR juice (I personally perfer juice because it sweetens the smoothie a bit more)
1 ripe bananas
1 cup frozen pineapple
1 cup frozen mangos
1 cup spinach or kale
1/2 slice of avocado
*If you don’t have the exact ingredient you can definitely substitute other ingredients that has the same packed vitamins.*
Coconut water is great for hydrating the skin. If you want glowy skin, you definitely want to make sure your skin is hydrated for that glow to come through!
Kale and spinach are packed with antioxidants such as vitamin, C, A, and E, which all goes hand in hand in helping skin cell renewl.
Avocado is famous for its face mask beauty remedies, but adding it to your diet can also do your skin wonders because it’s high in antioxidant carotenoids that protects your skin from environmental damages that leads to signs of aging.
